Walk in, walk out

I walked in assuming the best.

I walked out not.

I hate this, and I don't know how to make it better. I can try all I want, but I don't know.

Dont give up. It takes time to change the atmosphere of a classroom from negative to positive. Just keep being clear, consistent, and phrase things positively.

You can do it. It will get better. In the meantime, find something to thank the kids for at the end of each period. If nothing else, it will let you finish the day in a bit more of a positive mood.

(Also, if you have a bad personality mix, dont be afraid to talk to the counselors about switching the schedule of a ringleader or two - especially if someone else is teaching the same section at the same time.)
